The “Berwyn Mural Project” is a community-driven public art piece featuring painting and mosaic art created by individuals and families from surrounding neighborhoods. Much of the piece was completed in 2010-2011 by the Bowmanville and Rogers Park Montessori School community, in partnership with the Bowmanville Community Organization and West Andersonville Neighbors Together.
40th Ward Alderperson Andre Vasquez highlighted this restoration in his monthly newsletter.
Volunteers who work to restore art following gang-related tagging in Chicago neighborhoods aim for a response time of 24 hours or less.
